City of Rockingham

The City of Rockingham is located in Perth’s outer southern suburbs, about 40 kilometres southwest of the Perth CBD with a population of approximately 97,338. Rockingham is a rapidly developing residential area, with substantial industrial and commercial developments, and a naval base on Garden Island. Refinement is a significant local industry.

City of Mandurah

Approximately 74kms south of Perth, Mandurah is blessed with a unique blend of coast, bushland, industry and inner-city living. Mandurah, from the Aboriginal word, "mandjar", meaning the "meeting place" has a strong tourism industry, is the capital of the Peel region and considered the gateway to the South West. Mandurah’s has experienced rapid growth from a Shire of 12,700 residents to a City of over 60,000.

A rich arts and festival culture has also become a unique feature of Mandurah, with many annual events, including the Channel Seven Crab Fest, Mandurah Ocean Marina Boat and Fishing Show, Stretch Arts and Community Festival and Mandurah International Opera Festival attracting tens of thousands of visitors. The water attracts many visitors and beaches and parklands provide an opportunity for recreation and leisure time. Walkers may enjoy the Erskine Nature Trail or Halls Head Walk. The community can participate in sports such as athletics, boxing, roller skating, soccer, scuba diving and much more.

City of Gosnells

The City of Gosnells is an area six times the size of Rottnest Island located less than 20kms south east of the Perth CBD. Serving a population of more than 95,000, Gosnells features pleasant residential living, markets, bush walks, wildlife parks and wineries. The city is experiencing high growth with significant development planned into the future.

Gosnells has a number of opportunities for people to be physically, mentally and socially active. Facilities include major sporting complexes such as Sutherlands and Mills Parks, three libraries and Leisure World Aquatic and Fitness Centre. There are also over 300 public parks and 420 hectares of State Forest for people to enjoy. The City hosts a variety of community events throughout the year. More than 100 sport and recreation clubs are on offer ranging from cricket, lawn bowls and football to archery, pony and trampolining.

Gosnells Women’s Health Service

Gosnells Women’s Health Service (GWHS) is a service promoting the emotional, social and physical wellbeing of all women in the community, with a particular emphasis on disadvantaged women.

Services include health promotion and building stronger families programs, courses and events, programs for women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, free counselling, an extensive postnatal depression program, a female GP who bulk bills, a library of over 300 books on women’s health and an information and referral service.

Hills Community Support Group

The Hills Community Support Group provides services to youth at risk, frail older people, people with disabilities and carers. Based in Mundaring, the group offers respite, transport, home maintenance, a library reading group and much more.

Women’s Healthworks (North Metro)

WOMEN’S Healthworks (WHW) is a health education and resource centre, which provides information, medical, counselling, educational, advocacy and social services for women in Perth’s northern suburbs.

WOMEN’S Healthworks works within the “social model of health” which recognises that all aspects of a woman’s life, including age, cultural background, sexuality, disability, financial and employment situations impact upon a woman’s well being. Our aim is to empower women, enabling them to make informed decisions about their health and well being in an environment which values and believes in the capacity and worth of each individual.
